This is a charity fundraising event for the Francis House Children's Hospice, the place where Kirsty Howard and the whole of her family receive support and respite care.

Kirsty is the Manchester hero girl who, with the assistance of Manchester United footballer David Beckham, handed over the baton to Her Majesty The Queen at the opening Ceremony of the 2002 Commonwealth games.  A highlight that made the event so memorable.
